Overview

Adam's Peak (Sri Pada) is a 2,243-metre sacred mountain revered by Buddhists, Hindus, Muslims, and Christians alike. The pre-dawn pilgrimage up 5,500 illuminated steps is a rite of passage in Sri Lanka, culminating in a spectacular sunrise from the summit. At the top sits the sacred footprint — believed to be that of Buddha, Shiva, or Adam, depending on the tradition.
